BMarkable is committed to making our platform usable by everyone. Here is an honest account of where we are, what we have built, and what we are still working on.

Our Commitment

BMarkable is committed to making our platform accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We are working toward conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Current State

BMarkable is currently in Pilot. We declare partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Most core platform functionality is accessible; some areas are still being improved.

What we have implemented:

High-contrast mode toggle, available in the platform UI
Keyboard navigation support for primary navigation and core report functions
Semantic HTML structure throughout the platform
Text alternatives for functional images and icons
Form inputs with labels
Focus indicators on interactive elements
Color is not used as the sole means of conveying information — report scoring uses text labels alongside visual indicators

Known limitations we are actively working on:

Some complex data visualizations do not yet have full screen reader descriptions — we are adding ARIA-compliant alternatives
PDF report exports do not yet include full accessibility tagging — in development
Some modal dialogs require refinement for full keyboard trap compliance

Assistive Technologies Tested

BMarkable has been reviewed with the following:

Keyboard-only navigation
Browser zoom up to 200%
High-contrast mode (built-in and OS-level)

Screen reader testing with NVDA and VoiceOver is currently in progress.
